History of Globalization
Globalization is a historical process. the start of globalization could be dated back to the 5 th and 6 th centuries BC. the skill route is a good example of globalization. The skill connected the West with the East. Forks that are considered English were introduced to Britain as late as the 19th century. Spoons had come in the 18th century.
Different views on Globalization
Some people see globalization as a positive factor. They say it links cultures around the world. It promotes unity and understanding between people of different societies. Others have a negative attitude towards globalization. They believe that stronger nations impose their cultures on weaker societies. There are also some people who have mixed feelings about globalization.
Globalization at work
Globalization connects various kinds of global relations such as sharing ideas, opinions and cultures. The most obvious is the use of 'things', clothes, furniture, cookery, cutlery, and vehicles etc. Therefore the world has become a global village.
Communication and Globalization
Today great attention is drawn towards globalization. The development of the internet and other communication technologies have played a major role in creating a great interest in globalization. The developing countries tend to fear globalization, seeing it as Westernization. But globalization is not only from the West to East but also from the East to West as well.
The Future of Globalization
There are two views on the future of globalization. Will the 21st century continue with the high rate of globalization or will globalization slow down once it reaches the climax ?
